Sou alérgico a Naftalina, me desculpem. Bons tempos aqueles... (Atchimmm).

Da Série: "...Bandas que eu curto ..."
Álbum: Into the Night [1995]
Mansfield, Howard, Kaiser
...
This disc captures live a blues jam by three Christian veteran rockers-Darrell Mansfield, Glenn Kaiser (Rez) and Larry Howard. Also on hand was Rez guitarist Stu Heiss. The three musician trade off doing vocals, each singing songs from their respective albums. The extended jams, along with the excellent harp playing, sax solos, guitar improvisions, and the live atmosphere make this an excellent disc to kick back and jam to.Although I am but a casual blues fan, I think this is an outstanding disc. "Stand By Me" is a cover of the blues standard by Ben E. King.

[.mp3] Petra - Not Of This World

Da Série: "...Bandas que eu curto ..."
Álbum: Not Of This World [1983]
Petra
Site Oficial: http://www.petraband.com
Michael's review:This is the first Petra album to feature a lot of synthesizer sounds; the older albums mostly seemed to stick to organ sounds (as rock tended to at the time). Also, it is possibly the most concept-oriented Petra album to date. The basic theme of the album is contained in the title track: "We are pilgrims in a strange land; we are so far from our homeland; with each passing day it seems so clear, this world will never want us here; we're not welcome in this world of wrong; we are foreigners who don't belong... we are strangers, we are aliens, we are not of this world." That song is preceded on the album by a very pretty synthesizer rendition of the Doxology ("Praise God from whom all blessings flow...") that sounds like the cover art looks; they had been performing it in concert for years before it was recorded. The next song is a rocker, "Bema Seat", about the judgement seat of Christ at the end of time: "When our labor all retire there will be a trial by fire; will your treasure pass the test, or will it burn up with the rest?" "Grave Robber" is about the resurrection when the graves will open and we will all meet Jesus in the air. "Blinded Eyes" is another of my all-time Petra favorites; the guitar hook creates an irresistible groove. That song is about the spiritual blindness of the unbeliever; side two starts with its antithesis, "Not By Sight" (as in, "We walk by faith..."). "Lift Him Up" gives a charge to the Christian to lead people to Jesus, and (again on the other side of the coin) "Pied Piper" is a warning to whoever would lead others away from Him. "Occupy" is about what we are to do until Jesus comes: "Occupy, standing firm, lifting high the holy standard... 'till our captain marches in." "Godpleaser" is both a warning and an exhortation: "...there's a way that seems right to a man, but it only brings him death. I wanna go the way that leads to life 'till I draw my dying breath; don't wanna be a manpleaser; I wanna be a Godpleaser; I just want to have the wisdom to discern the two apart... I just want to do the things that please the Father's heart." Overall the album is great for placing your mind on the future we have in Christ, and the present in which we are to store up treasures for then.

[.mp3] Petra - Farewell

Da Série: "...Bandas que eu curto ..."
Álbum: Petra - Farewell [2005]
Petra
Site Oficial: http://www.petraband.com
To celebrate 33 years of music and ministry from the pioneering Christian rock band, PETRA, Inpop Records will release PETRA FAREWELL on November 22nd. PETRA FAREWELL, recorded on October 4th in front of an audience of family, friends and fans at W274 in Franklin, Tennessee, features PETRA classics, emerging worship favorites, and special guest appearances by former band members, including vocalist Greg X. Volz and keyboard player John Lawry. ?It was great to see Greg and John on the same stage together,? says PETRA lead vocalist since 1986, John Schlitt. ?Everyone had fun and I?m sure the fans enjoyed the show. We?ve had a wonderful 33 years, and God has done amazing things through this band. We are thankful for all He has given us,? Schlitt says. PETRA, currently comprised of Schlitt, band founder/guitarist/songwriter Bob Hartman, drummer Paul Simmons and bassist Greg Bailey, has impacted generations of musicians and fans alike over the years with over seven million CDs sold, four Grammy Awards, 10 Dove Awards and an induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. The band initially formed in 1972 and paved the way for the rock genre perhaps more than any other in the Christian music industry.

[.mp3] Delirious - The Mission Bell

Da Série: "...Seus vizinhos vão amar ..."
Álbum: The Mission Bell [2005]
Delirious
Site Oficial: http://www.delirious.co.uk
New treats, same passion. While they never went away, it’s still true to say that Delirious are back. Back with a new album, a new set of summer freebies but the same passionate drive that has pushed them well into their second decade as worshippers with a message that travels far and wide.
Across the 12 tracks is a burly sense of urgency, a voice that declares that these are the days for strong hearts, loud voices and a faith lived out loud. As well as this vital sense that God is powerfully at work right now, the album is saturated with a lyrical focus that places God directly in the foreground. For comparison think the words of Glo set to the tunes of World Service sung with the devotion of Cutting Edge. The albums release will be prepped and primed by a single release exclusively on i-Tunes.
